Referral guide

How to manage referral progress

Keep the sender and your group informed as a referral moves from a new introduction to an outcome.

A referral begins as logged and can move through accepted and in progress before being marked won or lost. The receiving member is best placed to keep that progress current.

A group administrator can also update status where oversight is needed. Only the receiving member or an administrator can make these changes.

Good to know

When marking a referral as won, MyNetworx requires the value of the work won. Use an appropriate value agreed with your organisation and avoid adding unnecessary client information.

Update a referral outcome

  1. Open the relevant group’s Referrals area

Find the referral in the period and list that contains it.

  2. Open the referral

Review the sender, recipient and description before changing its progress.

  3. Choose the current status

Use accepted when you have taken responsibility, in progress while the opportunity is active, or won or lost once there is a clear outcome.

  4. Add the won value when required

If the outcome is won, enter a value greater than zero and confirm the update.

  5. Review the updated summary

The status contributes to member and administrator referral summaries for the selected month, year or all-time view.
